Saturniidae Saturnia pavonia

This beautiful, probable female, emperor moth was what everyone wanted to take photos of. She was resting in a quiet, sunny area of the upper part of the restaurant in Herakleia where we had just enjoyed our lunch and a well earned coffee, chai or beer. There are some 120 or so emperor moths and, with the limited number of reference books to hand, this is the nearest to identification that I could do.
